Death |
[A facsimile of this letter can be seen in Jan Baros's Mahatma Gandhi. V.G.D.] I am sorry for your loss which in reality is no loss. 'Death air but a sleep and a forgetting.' This is such a sweet sleep that the body has not to awake again, and the dead load of memory is thrown overboard. So far as I know, happily there is no meeting in the beyond as we have it today. When the isolated drops melt they share the majesty of the ocean to which they belong. In isolation they die but to meet the ocean again. |
